Continuing the Legacy of Mission San Antonio de Padua

We invite you to participate in providing a rich and lasting Legacy that continues to support these and future restoration and conservation projects and continues to provide the necessary funding to responsibly maintain the very important seismic retrofit and restoration work that has been completed between 2014 and 2022.

In order to raise these funds, we are asking for your continued generous donations.

We've asked our Project Chair, Brian Kelly, to provide an estimate of how much will be needed to maintain the Mission for the next half century. Using a very conservative 6% inflation rate, Brian has come up with a rather scary number – approximately $9 Million will be needed to sustain the Mission for the next fifty years. Of course, this is not all needed up-front. It is our goal to continue to engage our ever-widening Mission Community in helping us raise this money.

This is a very long-view approach. We said when we began in 2014, this will be a multi-year, multi-million-dollar project. We have completed the first part of the job. Now, with the mandated work behind us, we are embarking on the next exciting part of the journey. We will continue the restoration work as we engage in projects that continually enhance the Mission experience for our visitors and guests.

It is to this objective that we now direct our (and your) attention, including projects like Archeological Field Schools, Continuing Elementary Education, and the restoration of the Mission vineyard. These projects will also take years to realize and in collaboration with our greater Mission Community.

Please consider Mission San Antonio de Padua's Legacy when you are considering your own. Please reflect on what the Mission means to you, and to so many others, and then contemplate how you can contribute. We would be extremely appreciative of being remembered in your last will and testament. Not everyone can do this, but for those who can and do, your legacy goes that much further when combined with the legacy of such a beloved historic treasure.
