Summer 2016
In this issue the update on the earthquake retrofit explains the important and urgent need for additional funds to keep the project moving forward. The completion of Phase II is nearing and all the funds for Phase III have yet to be raised. The Diocese of Monterey will not let the construction continue unless ALL the funds to complete Phase III have been raised. This is an urgent need! If the construction stops, crews will be let go and everything will be taken down. It will cost additional funds to bring them back to set everything back up again. More importantly, if construction stops the retreat rooms, which are Phase III will not be earthquake retrofitted and could be shut down. The Mission relies on the revenue from the retreat rooms to operate the mission. Closure would be devestating for Mission San Antonio de Padua.
